About the Bayt Alebaa

Founded in 1985, Bayt Alebaa is a Saudi Arabian-headquartered retail and wholesale corporation that runs chains of stores and warehouses, experienced in trading and manufacturing building materials, such as ceramic tiles, porcelain fixtures, decor, and sanitary materials.

The company is the largest retailer in terms of renovations in Saudi Arabia, with over 5000 employees while having around 14 stores and exhibitions all over the Kingdom and serving a substantial customer base annually.

Customer Challenge

For Bayt Alebaa to achieve its primary objective of establishing a cloud-first strategy, it had to first upgrade its current on-prem infrastructure, which was obsolete and no longer supported by providers. However, as a leading player in the market, the customer couldn’t afford to have any disruptions to its daily operations as this could result in a huge financial impact. This challenge demanded for a solution that would provide the flexibility the company needed to support its ongoing growth and maximize ROI.

Post a detailed evaluation of the customer’s challenges and current environment, Redington proposed AWS Cloud as the most ideal solution that met all aspects of the requirements.

Redington proposed a multi-AZ deployment for SAP workload. The customer decided to deploy workload in single AZ with backup due to cost constrains.

AWS Cloud provided effortless flexibility to host applications swiftly and securely without any disruptions to daily operations. Not only was the solution cost-effective but was also scalable and high performing.

Partner Solutions

Redington presented to Bayt Alebaa AWS migration overview for the SAP workloads to AWS, that starts with assessing the workload and mapping to AWS along with expected TCO on the cloud. BOM included projected costs for EC2 instances, network, storage, and other components. Solution focused on optimizing cost, operation efficiency and smooth migration experience.

Bayt Alebaa will connect to AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) using a secured tunnel VPN. SAP workload deployed on EC2 instances which has Elastic Block Store (EBS) attached to it, for high-performance storage optimized for both throughput and transaction workloads.
